Privacy Policy

Your information helps us make career guidance more personal. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

Effective date: August 28, 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect information needed to provide a useful, secure student workspace, including:

  • Account details: name, email address, password, and sign-in provider details.
  • Profile and learning details: education, interests, goals, preferences, resume information, and answers you choose to provide.
  • Usage information: pages visited, features used, device information, approximate location, and diagnostic logs.
  • Community content: posts, questions, comments, resources, circle activity, and messages you submit.
  • Transaction details: subscription and payment status. Payment card details are handled by our payment partners and are not stored by GyanaSetu.

2. How we use information

We use information to operate and improve GyanaSetu, personalize career and preparation guidance, support community features, process subscriptions, respond to requests, prevent misuse, and communicate important account or service updates.

Where we use information for optional communications or product improvement, you can manage your preferences or contact us to opt out.

3. Acharya and AI features

When you use Acharya or another AI-assisted feature, the information you submit may be processed to generate guidance, summaries, recommendations, or study support. Avoid entering sensitive information that is not needed for your question.

AI-generated guidance is educational support, not a guarantee of admission, employment, examination results, or professional advice. We use reasonable controls to limit access to submitted data and to improve reliability and safety.

4. When we share information

We share information only when needed to provide the service, such as with hosting, analytics, email, payment, authentication, customer-support, and infrastructure providers. These providers may process information only for the services they provide to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Community and public content

Content you publish in a public or community area may be visible to other users and may be copied or shared by them. Use care before posting contact details, academic records, financial information, or anything you would not want others to see. Private account and profile information is not made public unless a feature clearly indicates that it will be.

6. Cookies and local storage

GyanaSetu uses cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, support security, and understand service performance. Disabling these technologies may prevent parts of the application from working correctly. We do not use them to sell your browsing activity.

7. Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls, and protected password storage. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information while your account is active and as needed for the purposes described here, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and legitimate business records. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to these requirements.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can update much of your profile in the application or ask us to help. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. Children and students

GyanaSetu is designed for students and career learners. If you are under the age required to consent to online services in your location, use GyanaSetu with a parent or legal guardian where required. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Contact us if you believe this has happened.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as GyanaSetu evolves or legal requirements change. We will update the date below and, when appropriate, provide additional notice. The updated policy applies from its effective date.
